Optimal health care starts with seeing your doctor. After hours, during an emergency, or when your doctor may not be readily available, you can visit our Urgent Care center or the hospital emergency room.

In a medical emergency, nothing matters more than a fast response. So we make certain expert medical assistance is just a few minutes away - 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week. The emergency department at North Ottawa Community Hospital is always staffed with Board-certified Emergency Physicians and a highly competent nursing team who specialize in your emergency care needs.

In addition, our Advanced Life Support ambulances are equipped with the latest life-saving technologies and operated by certified, highly-trained paramedics. Our Ambulance Service is staffed by state licensed Paramedics and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) for its compliance with national standards of excellence. Their training and expertise, as well as the sophisticated equipment on board each ambulance, enable them to provide our community with Advanced Life Support (ALS) services. NOCH Ambulance Services also works closely with community Police and Fire Departments and is affiliated with area Emergency Helicopter Services.

Use the ER for:

  • Life threatening injuries
  • Heart Attack or Stroke
  • Chest pain
  • Abdominal pain
  • Dizziness
  • Numbness in face/arms/legs
  • Fractures
  • Injuries to the head or eyes
  • Shortness of breath
  • Burns and bleeding
  • Seizures
  • Coughing or vomiting blood
  • When Urgent Care or your physician office are not available

When you experience a minor illness or injury, our Urgent Care Center is an excellent choice for care. Staffed and equipped to provide prompt, practical medical attention to walk-in patients, the Urgent Care Center can handle everything from a sore throat to a sports physical, seven days-a-week.  

Hours of operation:  
Monday-Friday: 9:00 am-7:00 pm  
Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 am-4:00 pm

Minor Injuries:
